The Alamodome is a multi-use facility and was the home of the championship San Antonio Spurs before moving to AT&T Center. A domed combination football and basketball stadium, the facility seats up to 72,000. Opened in 1993, the Alamodome also functions as one of San Antonio's leading convention centers. The Alamodome has been home to some of the most famous sports teams, rock stars and events in the world. Perhaps most famously, the NBA's San Antonio Spurs called the Alamodome home from 1993 to 2002. NCAA men's and women's basketball tournament games have been held here.
